About The Township

The Woodlands Township Recreation Department coordinates and implements thousands of programs for residents and non-residents of The Woodlands. These include summer camps, youth sports to adult leagues, swim classes, special events, nature programs, language classes, dance classes, and more! There are two recreation centers - Rob Fleming and Bear Branch, over 80 tennis courts, 70 different sports fields, 89 playgrounds, 220 miles of hike and bike trails, 2 boathouses, 14 community swimming pools, an aerial adventure ropes course and more. In addition to providing programs for the public, the recreation department also puts on over 60 free special events including holiday events, environmental events, concert series campouts and races.
